If you are one of the lucky couples to consider Black Forest by Wedgewood in Colorado, then I have the perfect guide for you. I would love to share with you the best way to plan for your wedding ceremony and reception at this lovely venue.

Black Forest in northern Colorado Springs is a serene pine forest that covers several square miles full of trails and beautiful, quiet parks.  This Wedgewood Wedding venue hidden in the Black Forest pines is a unique spot for your wedding ceremony and reception.  I want to share our ideas for planning the perfect wedding at this venue.

1. Multiple Ceremony Sites:

This venue offers both an indoor and outdoor ceremony site which is perfect for flexible planning due to seasonal weather issues.  You can fully design your dream indoor or outdoor wedding ceremony. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate for your outdoor ceremony, then you can quickly adjust with the help of their on-site planners to move your wedding indoors.

2. On-Site Reception:

The reception spot for Black Forest at Wedgewood is just a few steps away from both the indoor and outdoor ceremony spots.  If you choose to have your wedding outdoors, then during cocktail hour the outdoor space is flipped to allow for your guests to mingle outdoors during your reception.

3. Couple Portrait Private Locations:

There are several private spots for your couple portraits and first-looks at the venue.  We can tuck you away privately for your first look, and we can also drive to several nearby locations as well.  Fox Run Regional Park and Black Forest Regional Park are within just a few minutes drive which are absolutely stunning for your couple and family portraits if you are willing to leave the venue.

4. Bridal Suite and Groom Getting- Ready Room:

We truly think you will LOVE the getting-ready rooms here!  They are spacious, private, and truly luxurious.  I loved taking getting ready photos with my clients in these rooms, and I wish I would’ve had a lovely room like this for my getting-ready portraits.  This venue truly has it all!

5. On-Site Catering:

Another massive perk to selecting this venue includes their on-site catering options.  This makes your reception dinner selections a breeze.  Make sure to communicate your ideal dinner plans with your on-site coordinator.

6. Flexible Capacity:

With so much uncertainty surrounding wedding venues and reception sites during the pandemic, I love that Wedgewood has a great deal of flexibility in their capacity sizing.  If you are planning an intimate wedding ceremony, then this is a perfect spot for you. Hopefully, we can soon return to the days of large gathering.

7. Location:

With just a quick one hour drive from the Denver International Airport and a few minutes north of downtown Colorado Springs,  the Black Forest by Wedgewood is an ideal location for both you and your out-of-town guests.  There are multiple hotels within 20 minutes of your venue, and you and your love can also quickly hop a flight at DIA for your honeymoon or take a honeymoon trip to the mountains.

8. All-Inclusive Wedding Packages:

You will love the all-inclusive packages available with varying options for your wedding day needs.  I found it very easy to help my clients decide on this venue because of their flexibility including DJ services, catering, and invitation suites as well.

9. Planning and Coordinating Services:

The planning and coordinating services at this venue are superb, and I love that they are in-house because they can guarantee all of your wedding details.  They will be able to help you plan the perfect wedding at their venue because they know it so well.

10.   Quiet Venue:

This venue is well-removed from the hustle of Denver and Colorado Springs, which provides you with a quiet wedding ceremony and reception.  The aesthetic of this venue allows for you and your guests to celebrate your wedding in complete intimacy and privacy, while providing you with your dream wedding in the forest.
