With a private carriage ride on snow covered trails, hot cocoa to warm their hands, and a stunning ring burning in his pocket, Sanya and Landon spent a lovely winter afternoon in Breckenridge with Golden Horseshoe sleigh rides. A Breckenridge proposal for the books, this day is a permanent favorite. Sitting in the front of the carriage with their driver, I pretended to be a part of the sleigh ride crew with a full ensemble, Stetson hat included, to remain incognito for the big moment. The anticipation was thick as we rode off into the woods, warm winter sun beaming through the trees. The snow glittered with winter wonderland beauty, and I was so grateful for the perfect day for Landon’s proposal. Golden Horse Sleigh Rides creates these moments for couples multiple times a week, so Landon and Sanya were in excellent hands.
The Colorado backcountry is so quiet and private, which is excellent for romantic proposals and couple’s dates. This sunlit proposal was one of my favorites so far, and I had a blast remaining incognito for my couple. The overlook we paused at with sweeping views of the evergreens and mountains created a picturesque spot for Landon to pop the question. It was truly a joy to capture their moment, and I cannot wait to share more from their story in a few weeks.
Surprise proposals are quickly becoming a favorite of mine in the quieter season, and they create such memorable images for our couples. I love Breckenridge proposals for their quick access from Denver and Colorado Springs. They also allow our couples to celebrate in town with amazing dining that evening. Creating a shared experience around your engagement is the goal, so finding locations that will create those moments for you is a must. Throughout the year, Colorado has wonderful options for proposals with everything from a romantic dinner for two, snowshoe adventures, horseback riding, gondola rides, and strolls through beautiful gardens.
The Golden Horseshoe Sleigh Ride was perfect for Landon and Sanya. The staff at Golden Horseshoe is well-prepared for these surprise engagements with ideas on remaining secretive, beautiful views, and suggestions on how to fully enjoy the moment. They also include an option for champagne and chocolates for the couple right after their engagement, which is a wonderful way to celebrate together. This Breckenridge proposal stole my heart!
Planning a proposal in the winter is not an easy feat, yet creating an adventure for your proposal is a great way to ensure your plans go off without a hitch. Some of our couples opt for a hike or dinner set for two, however if you plan an engagement in the winter the weather and crowds in our ski towns may create unpredictable issues. My suggestion is to book a snowshoe trip, sleigh ride, snowmobile tour, or even go ice skating or skiing to ensure we are in sync with your timeline. We will create beautiful images of your moment so we want to make sure that your plans go well. A well-planned Breckenridge proposal is a sure thing.
They offer private sleigh rides with gentle horses so you can full immerse yourself in the experience. There is so much to do on-site at the nearby Goodtimes rental company. Even on the weekend, the location was private and easy-going which helped my couple fully relax and enjoy time together. We were able to take about a half an hour after the ride to walk around and take portraits. This is my favorite way to end a surprise proposal to make sure we capture the joy of your engagement. Breckenridge is just a few minutes down the road, so planning a romantic dinner right after is a must.
