Hi, I'm Jenna.

The Jenna Wren Timeline Guide

Create a seamless timeline that works best for you and your love story!

Fall in Colorado is a photographer’s dream.  Vail engagement pictures are some of my all time favorite images of my couples. Especially in the mountain towns and passes where we can climb up high enough to enjoy sweeping views and autumn colors.  One of my favorite mountain passes just outside of Vail for engagement portraits is Shrine Pass.  The bumpy dirt road leads to some of the most stunning vistas in the Vail area, and I enjoy taking my couples up there from early June to mid-October if the weather is in our favor.  Shrine Pass is about 30 minutes from downtown Vail village, and it is on your way back to Denver so I have found it is a perfect spot to stop.  I often walk through my couple’s venue in Vail or scout locations for their bridal portraits, and they are able to easily meet me at this pass for their engagement portraits.

Other times, we have started in the Vail or Beaver Creek area for a lengthy portrait session then driven up to the pass. I love starting in Vail Village for portraits in this quaint town, then heading into nature for stunning views.  Engagement and couple’s portraits are an important part of photographing your wedding experience, and we offer both sessions to all of our couples.  Fall is a favorite for Vail engagement pictures, so we are often booked months in advance as our couples eagerly await the peak of Aspen leaves around us.  When I am asked for engagement portrait location ideas, I just smile because I have a list of about 20 locations all along the front range and mountain towns that are just gorgeous year-round.  Some of the trails may be inaccessible once snow lands, but we can still find spots with amazing views.  If you are searching for your perfect Colorado engagement location, then feel free to inquire with us to find the spot you are dreaming of.

Our gorgeous couple O and M picked Shrine Pass for all of those same reasons, and after touring their lovely venue in Vail we drove up the pass.  Greeted with perfect autumn warm breezes and sweeping views, I was thrilled to enjoy the afternoon photographing their portraits.  Their choice for Vail engagement pictures in October was a pure bliss. Their smiles and connection lit up the frame, and we spent a few hours dancing, running, and enjoying the views.  Blending their unique family traditions into a celebration of love and partnership, they are planning a stunning fall 2022 wedding.  They will have beautiful colors celebrating O’s Nepali heritage mixed with American wedding traditions that share in the celebration from M’s heritage.  I cannot be more excited to photograph their vivid and intentional wedding day next September.  They are hosting an intimate affair in a private estate for their nearest and dearest, and enjoying an incredible catered dinner that hopefully can take place al fresco if the weather permits. That’s the beauty of creating your wedding vision with your unique stories.  When you create your wedding day from design to timeline with intention, you open the door for us to capture breathtaking images of your love story.

As their wedding photographer, I am so grateful for the extra time spent photographing their engagement portraits so I can watch how they interact naturally as a couple.  There is nothing (in my opinion) more beautiful in life than love and connection, and I am always honored that this is my job.  With every session we schedule, I want to ensure my couple’s feel fully prepared for their portraits.  We talk through their vision and then plan a mood board based on their desired portraits.  We talk about outfits, poses, locations, and images they want to remember well beyond their date.  Each image we capture contains so much emotion, and our couples are able to remember those feelings long beyond their portrait and wedding date.  One of the most important parts of preparing for their engagement session is for my clients to fill out a questionnaire about themselves.  I ask questions that help me get to know them, but even more I am able to see how they picture themselves and their relationship.  These details go a long way in photographing our couples.

As wedding photographers, we encourage all of our couples to book an engagement or couple’s portrait session to celebrate this season as partners.  Beyond just capturing those moments, we know that these sessions create a connection between us and you well before your wedding day.  We value the time we spend with our couples so we can truly capture who you are together.  O and M spent that extra time sharing their story with us before we arrived to photograph their portraits.  The details they shared with us were beautiful, unique, and enhanced the way we approached their session.  Even the locations we recommend tie into how your story aligns with how we want you to feel during your session.
