I am excited to share ways to propose in Colorado in the winter that will create the perfect memory for you and your fiancé. Proposing in Colorado is glorious no matter the season, and often between the beginning of December through early March is the height of engagement season. I know that planning a proposal in Colorado in the winter outdoors may take a little extra planning, but it is so worth it. Of course, if you are proposing in these months then you are also proposing in the middle of winter in Colorado which may be tricky at times. I love winter proposals because the snow makes everything magical.
My approach to your proposal is to always be available in whatever manner you would like to have the moment photographed. Some of my couples prefer planning a couple’s session where it is obvious a photographer will be present. This allows for a smooth transition from posing as a couple to positioning yourself in a way in front of the camera that allows you to sneak the ring out of your pocket. Proposing in Colorado in the winter is so romantic, and I would recommend inquiring with us to save your proposal date. Allowing me to photograph you during a couple’s session helps your proposal go smoothly especially during the tricky winter months.
Some of my couples prefer to have me remain hidden during the engagement so that their partner is completely surprised and not distracted by the presence of a camera. We work together to find ways to allow me to blend into the surroundings. It is always a blast hiding in the moment! Winter is such a beautiful time to get engaged, so I am excited to help you plan your perfect Colorado winter proposal. If you are searching for a beautiful location, then read my suggestions here. And if you need a few more ideas on how to pop the question, then make sure to check out post on how to plan a surprise proposal.

I hope you decide to propose in Colorado in the winter because it is truly magical during this season. Winter offers so many ways to celebrate this new journey with your fiancè and you will have photographs to cherish from the moment they said yes. No matter the season, surprise proposals in Colorado are magical. I cannot think of a more romantic setting than our mountain vistas, and popping the question to your partner here is a must. Whether you have been planning to ask your love to marry you for months or just a few short weeks, your proposal deserves to be photographed. I am all in for these moments with our couples. Don’t feel the need to plan an over the top proposal. A simple hike in the mountains or romantic dinner with a view can help take some of the pressure off. Colorado proposals for the win always.
If you choose to propose in Colorado in the winter make sure you have adequate clothing to stay warm and dry! Colorado in all of its pristine beauty is also unpredictable most of the year for weather. Rain, shine, or snow, we can capture the moment beautifully for you. However, if you are traveling in from out of state or sensitive to quick changes in temperature then we would need to monitor the weather closely. Dressing adequately especially for our higher altitude locations is a must, even in the summer months. July through early October is often warm with brief afternoon rain showers, so I would start with those months in mind when planning your proposal in Colorado.
After all this anticipation and the joy of becoming engaged, I hope you celebrate! Whether it is cuddling on the couch and sipping wine reveling in new relationship status or heading out for a night of fine dining, we hope you find a way to capture the moment in your memories. Congratulations on your engagement! We are honored to have been a part of your surprise proposal in Colorado, and we will be sipping champagne in celebration of you two that evening. Once you come down off your high a little, make sure to reserve your wedding date with us! If you would love to see what a surprise proposal looks like with me, then make sure to read Suraj and Cori’s engagement story. Suraj proposed to Corio in the Rocky Mountain National Park, which is another gorgeous spot to pop the question. Proposing in the winter in RMNP will take a little more planning because several roads and trails close once the snow begins to fall. Wherever you choose to have this moment photographed, I am certain it will be perfect for you two. Let’s start planning right away! Proposing in Colorado in the winter or any season for that matter will give you a lifetime of memories.
