During the current national pandemic, we believe it is more important than ever to prioritize your romantic relationship! Date nights out aren’t currently a possibility, and trust me I know how hard that is! We’ve had to cancel several date nights out the last few weeks, and we’ve decided to be creative with our time together at home. We came up with a few ideas that we have been using while quarantined to connect as a couple!
1. Watch a movie series together like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings
Surprisingly, Steve had not grown up watching the Star Wars movies, so we decided to spend a few weekend nights watching them all from start to finish! It quickly became something we looked forward to together as a couple, and we made it as romantic as possible! We ordered take out for dinner a few times and spent the night cuddled on the couch together.
2. Take a romantic walk and hold hands the whole time
Walking has become our new favorite pastime. Find a way to spend time together while walking, and make it extra romantic by holding hands!
3. Find a new hiking trail
A great way to get some fresh air, exercise, and time together is to look for a new hiking trail near your home. Try the AllTrails app to search near you!
4. Order Date Night in Box
Such a great way to spice things up at home without having to spend a lot of time or energy finding a way to connect! If you haven’t tried Date Night in Box then I highly recommend it!
5. Make brunch and eat in bed
Enough said, right???
6. Listen to an inspiring podcast together
We love podcasts! Some of our best conversations have come from listening to podcasts together and sharing our thoughts after!
7. Cook a new recipe or order Hello Fresh
Hello Fresh is a great way to try new healthy recipes and connect together as a couple! Pour a glass of wine and get to cooking a new meal together!
8. Buy a board game and play together
This is one of the quickest ways to lighten the mood and have a great time together at home! We have a few favorite board games that we go back to from time to time, but we also love trying new ones!
9. Work on a house project together
If you’re able to grab a few supplies and hunker down on those home projects while you’re quarantining, then I say why not make it a way to work together! It may not sound super romantic to touch up paint around the house or fix a few loose screws, but it will at least give you both something to focus on together during this crazy time!
10. Put together a Lego set
Once you’ve finished watching all the Star Wars movies, then why not try your hand at a Star Wars Lego set! Tap into your inner kid and get to work on a hands on project together!
11. Turn the living room into an indoor picnic
This is one of my favorite things to do when we are snowed in, so try it out during the quarantine! If you have a few spare candles around the house, light those for a little extra romantic ambiance.
12. Take a questionnaire online and share the results
We have found so many great quizzes and questionnaires online, and they can lead to a serious conversation or a fit of laughter depending on what you choose! I highly recommend searching for a few personality quizzes that will help you learn more about each other.
13. Dream up a Bucket List
A Bucket List doesn’t have to be a somber affair, but it can be a way to share your hopes, dreams, and desires for places you want to travel or things you want to do! Feel free to make a bucket list as a couple and individually. Set out to encourage one another towards those things you listed.
14. Create a spa night at home
Individual massages, a hot bath, spa music, and tea candles are a great start to your at home spa evening! Taking time to relax together during this stressful season is a great way to connect romantically!
15. Start a workout routine
Our health is always a high priority, so why not make use of the time at home by starting a workout routine together! Find a time of day that works for both of you, and then look for a routine or program that will help each of you hit your goals. There are so many great apps and programs out there that you can do together!
I hope you are able to find incredible ways to connect as a couple and keep your romantic life a top priority while quarantined at home! If you want to connect with me, feel free to email me here!
